Healthwatch, Rail Fares and Cows.
Rupal Rajani sits in alongside Jim to start your day with the latest news and updates.
"Uncomfortable, judged and ignored...." That's how patients in Leicestershire have described the way they've been treated by hospital staff, carers and even doctors! It's according to a new survey called 'My Voice Counts'. In it, Healthwatch Leicestershire spoke to more than 600 people from across the County about their experiences with health providers. What they found was disturbing... Patients complained about a lack of care, respect and even privacy, and people with mental illnesses said that medical staff didn't show enough concern about their emotional welfare. Rail fares have risen nearly three times faster than wages over the past five years! That's according to the Action for Rail campaign, which claims commuters are being left "seriously out of pocket". Its study has found that season tickets and other regulated fares have increased by 25% since 2010. But average pay has only gone up by 9%. But there could be better news later this morning if inflation figures are as low as expected. That's often used as a guide for any increase in ticket prices. If you fancy a spot of rambling before the summer draws to a close, you're being reminded to take extra care in the fields around Leicestershire and Rutland. Most of us feel more than a little nervous when we find ourselves in the same space as a big bull, but cows can also be a problem. So how should we behave when walking through a field of them?
