Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.
Today, we've been talking a load of rubbish - Harborough's rubbish to be exact. The council there has to cut 拢1.4 million from its waste services budget and recently sent a survey around to people living in the district. It asked where the axe should fall. Their response - nowhere! A fifth of households took part, answering questions on things like reducing the number of collections, and charging for garden waste. So what happens next?
Also, The mother of notorious Leicestershire killer Colin Pitchfork's first victim has made an emotional appeal to the Parole Board not to release him. Pitchfork, who was the first person convicted using DNA evidence, was jailed for life for the murders of Leicestershire schoolgirls Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth in the 1980's. He's now reached the end of his 28 year sentence and the Parole Board has to determine if he's safe for release. In an exclusive interview for Inside Out East Midlands, Lynda Mann's mother Kath Eastwood says she has no doubt he would kill again if he was ever freed.
