The Twisted Wheel

The Twisted Wheel

Manchester's Brazennose Street聽(and later Whitworth Street) venue became the birthplace of the music scene known as Northern Soul.

Between the years of 1963 and 1971, all-nighter events,聽hard-to-find music聽and live聽appearances by soul artists helped put Northern Soul and the Twisted Wheel聽on the musical map and paved the way for later聽all-nighter venues like聽The Golden Torch and聽the Wigan Casino.聽
