Madeline McCann, Dog Mess & Planets

Monica Winfield sits in alongside Jim to start your day with the latest news and updates.

The parents of Madeleine McCann say they understand the reasons for scaling back the investigation into her disappearance. It's eight years now since the then 3 year-old from Leicestershire disappeared on a family holiday in Portugal. Yesterday, the Metropolitan Police said they would be scaling back the number of officers working on the case from 29 down to 4. Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell says the family haven't given up hope.
Also, it's on every dog walkers check list ... Lead ... Treats ... and of course ... poo bags! But how would you feel if you were approached while out on your dog walk, and fined 拢100 for forgetting to bring the poo bags! It's an idea being considered by Harborough District Council.
And, you may not know it, but there are three planets very close to earth right now and it's possible to see them all with the naked eye! Hear from Josh Barker, a Presenter at the National Space Centre, to find out where to look.
