Brick Attacks, Travel Fears & Mobility Scooters
Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.
To have a brick thrown through the window of your house is frightening enough, but how would you feel if it happened again and again and again? Well that's what's been happening to a family in Leicester, and police are appealing for help from the public to identify the people responsible. There have been 13 attacks on two houses in Aylestone Drive and Arnesby Crescent since August last year, and police believe that the incidents are linked and the houses are being deliberately targeted by the same people.
Also, flights to bring British tourists back from Sharm el-Sheikh will re-start later today. They were suspended on Wednesday following concerns that a bomb could have brought down a Russian airliner last Saturday. EasyJet, Thomson, Monarch and British Airways have scheduled flights - though passengers will be only allowed to carry hand luggage.
And, we were all struck this week by the sad death of a 77 year old from Market Harborough, whose Mobility scooter was involved in a collision with a car. It raised a serious question in the office here at Radio Leicester around the rules regarding scooters and where they can and can't go. We've been sharing stories of spotting them going into supermarkets and even on dual carriageways. So what exactly is the position of using them on and off the road?
