The loss of Sparkle, Young Politicians & Syria.

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Do you feel that the older you get, you may lose your "sparkle"?

Well, a judge has ruled that a 50 year old woman has the right to refuse the kidney dialysis treatment needed to keep her alive. The lady in question, known simply as "C" in court, has reportedly had a colourful life, with a number of unsuccessful marriages. The Court of Protection was told that the woman wanted to die because she felt she'd lost her ''sparkle'' and didn't want to get old.

It's often said that politicians are getting younger, but in one north Leicestershire village some of them haven't even reached their 12th Birthday.

The Parish council in the Ellistown area, has set up a Youth section where young people gather to debate issues which mean a lot to them locally. The youth council discusses everything from play areas to internet safety and they're hoping to recruit more members to ensure young people get a say in their community.

Is Britain about to become involved in another war in the Middle East?

MPs will vote tonight on whether the RAF should carry out air strikes over Syria, targeting the terrorist group which calls itself Islamic State. The result is expected to give the go-ahead for Britain to take part in air-strikes in Syria. David Cameron is to open a day-long parliamentary debate this morning (1130) before the Commons decides whether to authorise military action against the terrorist group known as Islamic State. A small number of Conservatives are expected to vote against their Government, but Labour MPs are split over the issue.
