As a study suggests most white Britons don鈥檛 identify with a faith, Sanderson Jones 鈥 the founder of the Sunday Assembly 鈥 joined the Daily Politics.
He said he started the non-religious gatherings after being inspired by a Christmas carol concert, finding he could not identify with 鈥渢he God bit鈥.
Mr Jones said over 500 people were at the last service in London, with councils getting in touch to organise events in different communities.
Rev Giles Fraser, who is a priest in South London, wished Mr Jones well. 鈥淟et many flowers bloom,鈥 he added.
