Melisa Le Rue really is an international singer/songwriter.

She was born in London and raised in Canon Frome, near Ledbury.

Born to an English Quaker father and Filipino Catholic mother, they fostered teenagers including asylum seekers from Zimbabwe and Afghanistan - exposing her to musical cultures from all over the world.

For the past seven years, she's been performing in Dubai and released her debut EP in New York City after being picked up by a record label.

Her first single, Unite, features the Grammy award-winning group The Soweto Gospel Choir and to celebrate its launch it became our 大象传媒 Introducing Track of the Week.

Fresh back from living in the UAE, Melisa joined us for an extra special session as part of this year's Worcester Music Festival.
