'I warble around': Lisa Hannigan's song writing process

Lisa Hannigan sang on the hugely successful Damien Rice album "O". She has just released a solo album called 'At Swim'.

She has been talking about her writing process and about countering writer's block.

"There are people who write songs in a very crafty way and I wish I could be more like that but it is a more of an instinctual thing for me."

Asked if she woke up with tunes in her head like Sir Paul McCartney, Lisa says, "I wish I did, that would be a very efficient use of my time. I sort of warble around, you know it's very un-formed, un-thought out and then certain things will click and will feel right and then I think you've got like the peg you can hang the rest of the song off."
