Phil Tufnell: Why I鈥檓 quitting smoking after 35 years
Former England cricket player Phil Tufnell has smoked since he was a teenager 鈥 and this year he will be trying to give up smoking as part of the stoptober campaign which aims to get as many people as possible to quit.
Phil smoked during his cricketing years, saying: 鈥淒uring those times most people smoked in the dressing room, you came off after a days play and sparked up. Now you鈥檙e all out on the balcony all freezing cold out the back.鈥
Public Health England says smoking rates have hit a record low with 16.9 percent of adults describing themselves as smokers last year - compared to more than 19 percent in 2012.
鈥淚 don鈥檛 want to be one of the sixteen percent now, I鈥檝e had enough of it,鈥 added the former spinner.
