"At Risk" Churches, Knife Crime & Aberfan

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

As Historic England's 'heritage at risk' register is published this morning, there's good news for a number of churches across Leicestershire. In total, five across the County have been taken off the register thanks to much-needed repairs.

Yesterday, we heard from the mother of Antoin Akpom who was fatally stabbed three years ago as she helped to launch Leicestershire Police's month-long knife amnesty. Another mother who knows what she's going through is Amy Morgan whose 16-year-old son Tyler Thompson was stabbed to death in November last year on Freeman Road North in Leicester.

It's fifty years ago today that we learned of the tragedy in the Welsh village of Aberfan, we remember those who lost their lives in the disaster.
