Female bank boss: gender balance hasn't changed much
The boss of HSBC's UK retail banking division has told 5 live the industry "hasn't done enough" to bring women into top jobs.
Francesca McDonagh, who started work in banking as a graduate trainee, said she initially thought the lack of women in senior positions was "a generational thing" which would change over time, but the numbers hadn't improved much in two decades.
She went on to say that HSBC had set a target of having 50-50 gender parity for senior positions. Currently 30% of board members at the bank are female.
