Concerns have been raised by an environmental group, after it emerged plans to create a clear air zone in Leicester were axed at the last minute. Six cities across the country have been selected by the government to take part in the scheme - which involves charges being levied on high pollution vehicles entering the city centres.

Politicians in Leicester have decided to waive all fees for protesters who are marching through the city tomorrow to campaign against the ending of children's heart surgery at Glenfield. The city council's taken the unusual step to show its total support for the demonstration, which will culminate in a rally at Jubilee Square.

There's been huge fall in the number of people being caught using their phones at the wheel in Leicestershire. New government figures show that just 93 fixed penalty notices were issued in the force area in 2015.
