Beaumont Park Football Club Protest, Sam Bailey on Bullying & Safe Standing

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Leicestershire and Rutland Football Association says it's investigating a row between De Montfort University, and a city football club. Police have confirmed they're enquiring about an alleged assault, following a demonstration involving around 100 parents at Beaumont Park on Monday night.

Leicesters' X Factor winner Sam Bailey is getting behind an NSPCC campaign that has already seen more than 16,000 children across Leicestershire taught to speak out against abuse. The 'Speak Out. Stay Safe' project is teaching schoolchildren aged four to 11 about sexual, emotional and physical abuse - and how to report it.

Premier League clubs, including Leicester City, are to discuss the prospect of introducing safe standing areas at their grounds. Seats were made compulsory at stadiums in England's top two divisions in the early 1990s. But several clubs and the Football Supporters Federation, are in favour of change.
