Parking Charges, Reindeer & the Cathedral's Diosing Programme

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Parking charges could be waived across the country for busy events like Christmas shopping days and bonfire nights - if a Leicestershire MP gets the idea through parliament. David Tredinnick, wants to make it easier for local authorities to be able to reduce or waive some parking charges.

Peaceful demonstrations will take place today at the University of Leicester, against the use reindeers at their Christmas market. The group behind it have gathered more than 950 signatures for their petition against the event.

Throughout December we'll be opening a door every day to reveal a Christmas Carol, specially recorded for us by School Children here in Leicestershire and Rutland taking part in the Cathedral's Diosing programme.
