Where鈥檚 the best place in the world to be a woman?
A former Icelandic Presidential candidate has told 大象传媒 5 live that when it comes to gender equality 鈥渋t鈥檚 not just a fight for women鈥檚 rights, it鈥檚 a fight for equal rights鈥.
Thora Arnorsdottir, who ran for President in 2012, told Wake Up To Money鈥檚 Colletta Smith that while Iceland was one of the best places to be a woman in the world it was worth remembering 鈥渃hange鈥 was still needed to make males and females truly equal.
Iceland has topped the World Economics Forum's rankings of the best place to be a woman in the world for 7 years in a row, and more than 80% of the female population is in work. The country also has one of the smallest gender pay gaps, with women being paid 14% less than men on average.
