First stone taken from slate mine
A mine is has produced its first slate after a 40-year wait.
Collyweston slate, named after the Northamptonshire village in which it is produced, has been used on illustrious buildings for more than 600 years - and the first fruits of the new supply will be heading to Cambridge.
King's College have helped finance the mine to ensure they were able to have access to the first supply.
