A New Era for the EPA
Scott Pruitt takes charge at the US Environmental Protection Agency and is expected to start dismantling legislation curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
Scott Pruitt is the new man in charge of the US Environmental Protection Agency. It means the former Governor of Oklahoma will get the final say over things like what pesticides farmers can use in the agricultural sector, where oil and gas firms can drill for new resources, and set environmental regulations for a range of industries; from the automotive sector to US house builders. So what might his tenure mean for those businesses? Coral Davenport of the New York Times gives us her assessment.
A rapid increase in the population over the past half century in Egypt has increased the need for efficient food production, in a nation historically dependent on the river Nile as a source of water for farming. but now one group of entrepreneurs in the country think they have the answer, a new technology which helps crops grow in the desert, as the 大象传媒's Ed Butler has been finding out.
