Former sports minister says gambling ad restrictions in football need review
Former Sports Minister Richard Caborn thinks there should be more restrictions on gambling advertising in sport.
Richard, who was responsible for setting up the Gambling Commission, said: 鈥淚 would revisit the advertising of gambling in sport, and would put much stronger restrictions on it.鈥
This follows an incident in the FA Cup 5th round game between Sutton United and Arsenal in which
reserve goalkeeper Wayne Shaw ate a pie during the second half, which was believed to be part of a stunt for a betting company.
Shaw has since resigned from his position.
