‘This was an incredible young woman with the most beautiful soul’
Natalie’s mum Dr Cas Shotter Weetman pays tribute to her daughter, an NHS worker and a 37-year-old mum of three.
She was repeatedly sexually assaulted and killed as she lay unconscious on a park bench in west London after a night out in 2021.
Dr Cas spoke to Naga Munchetty to highlight the issue of violence against women and girls saying “Our young women should be allowed to do the same as anyone else”.
When asked what her daughter was like, Dr Cas said: “She was bright, cheerful, happy, caring. She had the most infectious laugh. She had the most amazing singing voice and that was her real steer.”
Mohamed Iidow was found guilty of the rape and manslaughter and will be sentenced in December.
