One corner has 'blown Vettel's title hopes'
Commentator Jack Nicholls and former head of Cosworth Engines Mark Gallagher say Sebastian Vettel's title hopes are all but over after the risky manoeuvre on the first corner in Singapore ended his race.
Asked if Vettel had 'blown' his title hopes, Nicholls said: "Yes. Singapore was a massive turning point. If Vettel had got to turn one, he would take the lead of the Championship. All he had to do was get to the first corner and now he's 28 points behind [Lewis Hamilton], it's nuts."
Gallagher said that Vettel's manoeuvre was a 'Championship losing move', adding: "It was a pretty disastrous outcome. Ferrari are now going to need a little bit of luck to come back as strongly as they need to, in order to challenge Lewis Hamilton."
