SUNDAY GARDENING EVENTS
Monday 5th March
Guild of Church Flower Arrangers have postponed their floral demonstration from this Monday until next week. It will now be at 7.45pm on Monday 12 March at The Vine Baptist Church, Boughton Lane, Loose. Myra Lester will be the demonstrator. All welcome.
North Tonbridge horticultural Society's next meeting takes place at 8pm at St Philip's Church.
The speaker is Toni Mount talking on Charles Darwin, his life and voyages and the Origin of Species.
Don't forget your exhibits for the monthly table!
Yalding Garden Society's Annual General Meeting is Monday 5th March, 7.45 for 8 pm in the Village Hall Lyngs Close. After the formal meeting there will be wine and light refreshments available. New members interested in the society are welcome.
TUESDAY 6th MARCH
OTFORD GARDENERS' SOCIETY are in Otford Village Memorial Hall, High Street Otford from 8pm - Dr Sue Turner will talk about 'The Social History of the Potato'
WEDNESDAY 7th MARCH
Hawkinge and District Gardeners Society will be holding their March meeting at the Hawkinge Village Hall, 7-30pm.
The speaker is Mr Malcolm Withnall and his subject is Pruning of fruit trees, shrubs, roses and clematis .All members and visitors are very welcome.
Hoath and District Gardening Society will be meeting at 7.30pm when Jim Davis will present an illustrated history of Mining in Kent, recounting his memories of working in the Kentish Coalfields. The meeting's at Hoath Village Hall, CT3 4LA. A warm welcome awaits members and visitors alike.
Great Mongeham Horticultural Society will be holding their monthly meeting in the Parish Hall and will commence at 7.30pm. The guest speaker will be Ken Chapman who will be giving a talk about "Wildlife in the Garden". The members competition is a photograph of a bird. New members are always welcome. The Society meets on the first Wednesday of the month.
Faversham Horticultural Society meet at 2.30 in the evening at the Age UK Centre on Middle Row for their monthly committee meeting.
St Dunstans Horticultural Society Canterbury have their monthly meeting at ARCA Hall Ashford Rd Canterbury at 7.45 pm where the speaker will be Shirley Thompson talking about Bats in the Garden .
They will also have a seed swap at this meeting.
THURSDAY 8th MARCH
There's a talk on Alpine Gardening with Caroline Halfpenny - at 10.30am at Millbrook Garden Centre in Gravesend.
These diminutive plants are particularly suited to modern gardens. Caroline will offer advice, hints and tips on how to create a display of alpines that will suit any size garden. Tickets costs 拢7.50 and includes refreshments.

Chartham Gardeners Society have their monthly meeting at the Village Hall on Station Road - it starts at 7.30 with a talk on 'Tales From The Salutation' by Steve Edney. There's also a flower exhibition of the best arrangements using a cup and saucer.
Maidstone Flower Club hold their Friendship Through Flowers event - New members and visitors will be warmly welcomed at our friendly club which meets on 2nd Thursday of the month at Allington Baptist Church (opposite Somerfield Hospital). Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Free parking is available. Membership - 拢30 per annum, Visitors fee - 拢6 per visit.

Groombridge Horticultural Society meet at 8pm in the New Hall
Richard Ramsey, owner of Wthypitts Dahlia Farm, will be speaking about dahlias and their propagation.
FRIDAY 9th MARCH
Milstead and District Horticultural Society are holding their Annual meeting at 8pm in the village hall. A full programme of events for 2018 will be presented and the speaker will be Jo Arnell on "Planting a nectar border to attract butterflies and bees", followed by refreshments.
Chalk Village Gardeners Club welcome you to Chalk Parish Hall. Visitors are welcome 拢2.50 including free refreshments. It all starts at 7.30 and Steve Bradley will be talking about "Making the most of bulbs"
SATURDAY 10th MARCH
You can 'Make your own Miniature Enchanted Teacup Garden' at 10.30am at Millbrook Garden Centres in Gravesend, Staplehurst and Crowborough.
The cost for this workshop is 拢15 for 1 teacup (based on 1 child/1 adult) or 拢25 if you would like to make 2 teacup gardens, either together or with additional children/adult. Places are limited. Booking essential - either in store or online.
