Ledbury's India Parkman was born in Singapore, to a Chinese-Indian mother and British father, before moving to the UK at the age of three.

She started learning piano just 12 months later. She says "being a poor sight-reader, I learnt all my set pieces by heart and began to recreate songs I'd heard on the radio or TV by ear."

Soon she was experimenting with chord progressions and melodies and had written her first song.

Her influences include Coldplay, Adele and Lana Del Rey and India discovered a love for A capella while at university.

鈥淗aunting and beautiful melodies, delivered with a spine tingling performance鈥 - Andrew Marston.

The Biggest Weekend Fringe

The Biggest Weekend Fringe
To celebrate 大象传媒 Music鈥檚 Biggest Weekend coming to four cities in four nations, we're holding a 10-day Fringe across the UK, starting on Friday 18 May, but we need your help!

We want as many local and independent venues to get on board, celebrating scenes across the UK and sharing our passion and enthusiasm for new and emerging music.

The Biggest Weekend Fringe is open to any UK venue, promoter or organiser to get involved and should reflect the UK鈥檚 diverse music scenes and genres, from indie to grime, and DJs to spoken word.

All events taking place will be able to use The Biggest Weekend Fringe branding and shall be listed as an official 大象传媒 Fringe event on our pages with Skiddle, our listing and/or ticketing provider.

We will be using our channels at the 大象传媒, on both national and local radio, to inform our audiences about The Biggest Weekend Fringe, providing a comprehensive programme of live music across the UK.

大象传媒 Music Introducing in Stourport

大象传媒 Music Introducing in Stourport
At the end of February, we descended on a place that was once primarily a hotel to record our latest sessions.

But behind the doors of the The Swan in Strourport is not only a live performance space, that鈥檚 putting the town back on the musical map, but also a brand new recording studio.

We took along artists handpicked from the 大象传媒 Music Introducing uploader to perform in front of a live audience 鈥 and also for you!

We Are Sailing

We Are Sailing
This week, we hear from the Herefordshire duo Mice in a Matchbox, who've spent the last few years floating across the globe, dropping anchor and playing shows wherever the wind takes them!

Singer/songwriter Sally Stamford, from Kington, and guitarist/vocalist Jim Rolt, from Bromyard, are currently at Bequia, in the Carribean, having sailed across the Atlantic in their boat Chaos.

Most of their practicing is done at sea and in various anchorages.

18-year-old 听started her singing career recording covers on YouTube and Facebook, which started to get her noticed.

She's now concentrating on writing her own songs and has started performing live.

In December, the Bromsgrove songstress - who's influenced by Amy Winehouse and Duffy -helped us to switch on Worcester's Christmas Lights.

Her focus is on a modern soul/reggae style and has been described by Andrew Marston as "beautiful songwriting, with one of the most soulful voices around".
