Lance explores the personal, scientific, financial and legal aspects of surrogacy. He talks to women who are surrogates, hears the experiences of straight and gay intended parents who have built a family via surrogacy and raises concerns about the current surrogacy laws in the UK. He asks ‘why are some people uncomfortable with surrogacy?’.
Lance meets anti-surrogacy campaigners and visits one of the US’s leading reproductive clinics in California which specialises in surrogacy and has clients from all over the world.
