Orkney's electric car revolution
Orkney has more electric cars than any other local authority in Scotland, according to the islands’ council. They’re at the forefront of the electric car revolution. Which scientists say is essential if we are to meet our net zero carbon emission target by 2045.
Across the UK a £3,500 grant towards a fully electric car is available; in Scotland the government also offers an interest free loan of up to £35,000 towards a purchase. And grants can bring the cost of a home charger down to as little as £100.
