Rooney: 'I didn't fit the image of the ability I had’
Former England captain Wayne Rooney opens up to Tony Bellew about the press scrutiny he experienced during his playing career.
The pair spoke on the former world champion boxer's new podcast, 'Tony Bellew is Angry', available now on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sounds.
Rooney said: "I think if we're being honest, there's probably Paul Gascoigne who's been through something similar, in terms of the intrusion from the press.
"I'm someone who doesn't fit the image of the ability I had so I've been scrutinised a lot because of that."
