This summer – ´óÏó´«Ã½ Hereford & Worcester wants you – for the radio station's first ever Community Games!
2024 is an Olympic and Paralympic year, but whilst the superhumans of the world compete for Team GB, USA, Germany and so on in the athletics, cycling and gymnastics – we’re on a mission to crown you, the people of Herefordshire & Worcestershire, champions in our own events.
From a Tug of War to Welly-Wanging, Stone Skimming to the Rodeo Sheep – it could be you – bringing glory to your city, town or village – at our first ever Community Games.
The date will be Friday 26th July – and the sporting arena will be the University of Worcester’s Lakeside Campus, between Hallow & Holt.
Applications are now open to be in one of our teams – email CommunityGames@bbc.co.uk with your name, prospective team members, and the area you’d like to represent.

Thinking about being part of the very first ´óÏó´«Ã½ Hereford & Worcester Community Games?
We need to know- Your name, and the names of any team members who will join you
- Which area of Herefordshire & Worcestershire you want to represent, e.g. "Team Kidderminster", "Team Leominster", "Team Pershore"
- Your contact number
Applications will be open until midnight on Friday 14th June. ´óÏó´«Ã½ Hereford & Worcester will be in touch after that date with the successful teams who will be invited to compete on the day.
People can apply individually, or as a fully formed team. Any individuals may be placed in to teams, if teams are not full.
There will be around 8 teams on the day, made up of between 4 to 6 people.
Teams will need to be available on Friday 26th July, with the first events taking place at 7:30am until 2pm.Â
Similar to The Crystal Maze, teams will nominate a member to take part in ten challenges, earning points for their team, which will be added up at the end of the day to find a winner.Be There
The ´óÏó´«Ã½ Hereford & Worcester Community Games is all about bringing people together, from across Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
Admission and parking is free for all competitors and spectators.
When the teams aren't using the equipment to compete, people can have taster sessions themselves.
Members of staff from the University of Worcester, will be on hand to show people what happens at their Lakeside Campus, near Top Barn Farm, and help spectators have a go at a number of the events, including the Sheep Rodeo and Gladiator-style Pugil Sticks.
Food, drink and ice creams will be available to buy on site.
´óÏó´«Ã½ Hereford & Worcester presenters will be attending too.
Activities will begin from 7am and continue until 2pm.
