Why is "illegal" laughing gas still a problem in some places?

Last year, the government made the possession of nitrous oxide, aka 'laughing gas', a criminal offence in England and Wales, as part of plans to tackle anti-social behaviour. Its use soared during the pandemic, becoming one of the most-abused substances, especially by 16-24-year-olds.

Now, seven months on from the ban, our former copper Rav Wilding investigates how it's still a huge problem in some places, and the impact it can have on people's long-term health - including paralysis and nerve damage.
