Research has found the average UK household spends £140 a year on cleaning products. From surface sprays to bleach, we're bombarded with products all marketed to do something slightly different. But one product could replace all of them - reducing our monthly bills and plastic waste. Katie Mortram, household advice editor for ‘Good Housekeeping Institute’, explains why the unsung hero bicarbonate of soda can be used to clean almost anything. She shows us how it can neutralise a smelly fridge, remove tough tea stains, and even unblock drains.
