Martin Lewis: How do you stop overspending at Christmas?
With Christmas edging closer, Martin Lewis is urging everyone to financially plan now.
"Christmas is a huge proportion of the year's annual expenditure, the average adult spends £800 on it", Martin said.
A figure made more pressing by the fact that January is the busiest time for debt counselling agencies.
So what can I do to soften the fiscal blow?
Martin would advise budgeting for what Christmas you can actually afford and also do a "personal stock take" - working out what you don't use in the house and sell it for some extra cash.
