Christopher Reeve's son recalls seeing his father after his injury
Matthew Reeve, son of iconic Superman actor Christopher Reeve recalls his fathers injury and how it resurrected their relationship.
Christopher Reeve was paralysed from the neck down after being thrown from a horse during an equestrian competition in 1995.
Matthew recalled what his step-mother Dana said before he walked into the hospital room to see his father.
"I vividly remember Dana taking us by the hand and saying 'you're going to go in there... he's on a ventilator, he's covered in all sorts of tubes but it's your dad in there so go give him a hug and a kiss".
But after the accident, their relationship had to adapt, and soon a relationship built on "doing things together" changed into having "long two, three hour sort of sit down chats".
