More than half of homes in the UK have a pet and in more recent years, products like supplements and health foods have become increasingly popular. But alarm bells were raised recently when Amazon issued recall notices for counterfeit pet supplements that had been sold through its site, masquerading as a legitimate brand. Gardener and proud dog dad Mark Lane meets the Morning Live viewer who thinks the scam product could have caused her dog's death and he investigates what's actually in the fake supplements.

Amazon told us it is deeply saddened by this situation and is supporting Romy and Sue. Amazon also said as soon as it was notified, it removed the counterfeit products, warned and refunded affected customers, and temporarily suspended resellers while it carried out additional checks. It says it maintains a zero-tolerance policy for counterfeit products and only genuine YuMove items are now available. Customers with concerns are encouraged to contact Customer Service.

YuMOVE acknowledges how concerning this issue has been for dog owners, saying that pet safety and wellbeing is its number one priority – with all of its products going through rigorous safety checks and tests. It says that it has worked with the relevant authorities to provide accurate and helpful information to anyone affected by the counterfeit products – this information can be found on the bottom of the YuMOVE home page. It reiterated that only genuine YuMOVE products are now available on Amazon, and customers can also buy directly from its website.
