Could A47 could be slowed to snail’s pace?

The Little Whirlpool Ramshorn Snail is just one fifth on an inch across, but the tiny creature may hold up plans to duel the A47 along the Acle Straight.

Whilst the road is an accident black spot, a nature study of the area which was due to finish in 2019 won’t be carried out until later this summer.

Robby West met Councillor Graham Plant – Cabinet Member for Transport on Norfolk County Council, and Eliot Lyne – Chief Executive for the Norfolk Wildlife Trust to hear both sides of the debate.
