World Champion given permission to whistle in Burlington Arcade
The world whistling champion, Geert Chatrou, was granted the rare honour of whistling inside the Burlington Arcade, becoming only the third person ever to be allowed to do so.
The arcade, famous for its quiet atmosphere and strict no-whistling rule, had only made such an exception twice before for Paul McCartney and a young boy in 2011.
Speaking to 5 Live Drive, the world champion explained how his dad鈥檚 whistling at home inspired him to master the skill: 鈥淚 thought this is part of communication in this family, so let鈥檚 start to whistle and I happen to be good at it and I happen to enjoy it.鈥�
