‘S ann ann an Inbhir Nis a tha i stèidhichte, mar is trice, ag obair air Aithris na Maidne, Aithris an Fheasgair agus An Là , a thuilleadh air an t-seirbheis-naidheachd air-loidhne.
Bidh i cuideachd ag obair còmhla ri sgioba Eòrpa. Rinn i a’ chiad aithris airson a’ phrògraim ann an 2003.
Thogadh Angela ann an Nis ann an Leòdhas agus chaidh i a dh’Oilthigh Ghlaschu far an d’ fhuair i ceum ann an Ceiltis.
Bha fireannaich bhon bhaile Angela ann an Nis, air an robh cuimhne aig h-athar, anns a’ champa agus ‘s e sin a bha ga tà ladh gu sgeulachd HMS Timbertown. Chur e iongnadh oirre cuideachd gun robh e ceadaichte do na prìosanaich tilleadh dhachaigh a Leòdhas aig à m an fhoghair agus gun robh aca an uair sin tilleadh air ais dhan campa! Gu dearbha sgeulachd à raidh air innse.
Angela MacLean (English)
Angela MacLean began working in the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Gà idhlig department’s newsroom in 1999.
Normally based in Inverness she works on Aithris na Maidne, Aithris an Fheasgair agus An LÃ , as well as for the online news service.
Angela also works with the Eòrpa team and did her first report for the programme in 2003.
Angela was raised in Ness on the Island of Lewis and graduated with a degree in Celtic Studies from the University of Glasgow.
What drew Angela to the HMS Timbertown story was that there were men from her own village in Ness who were in the camp and who her father remembered in the community. The fact that the men were allowed home to Lewis to help with harvest and then returned back to their internment camp intrigued her all the more! It was a definitely a story just waiting to be told.
