Elisabeth Mulenga
Elisabeth is 18 years old. She loved to dance from a young age and has always danced to express herself. At age 11, Elisabeth discovered contemporary dance online and quickly decided to pursue it as a career.
From 2015 to 2019, Elisabeth was part of RDC Youth, a contemporary youth dance company in Birmingham, where she performed in works by choreographers such as Gary Clarke and Lea Anderson MBE. The youth company allowed Elisabeth to experience how art can be a medium to criticise socio-political systems and norms.
Aged 15, Elisabeth joined Rambert School’s pre-vocational course and National Youth Dance Company (NYDC). Both were interrupted by the lockdown. However, Elisabeth found the time at home invaluable in understanding her artistic values and developing a choreographic voice. In 2020, Elisabeth joined Rambert School, where she is now in her second year. Elisabeth aspires to dance, perform and create across communities internationally and better understand different experiences of life and how they can be authentically articulated in movement.
