Roy Marsh
Owner of a local dog shelter and preferring to mind his own business, Roy gets dragged into a case that he would rather have nothing to do with.
Roy is a man who is more comfortable in the company of the dogs he has rescued than other people. He is a social recluse, and wants it to stay that way.
In the past he has had a variety of short term jobs, including working as a porter at a women's clinic, before opening his small dog rescue centre in Chorley.
But when three 16 year old bodies are unearthed, he becomes involved in a messy investigation. His previous job at the clinic places him in the line of fire, and difficult questioning from the police disrupts his precious peace and quiet.
