Fernando Javier Rad贸 was born in Buenos Aires. He studied voice with Ricardo Yost and in 2006 became the youngest member of the Col贸n Theatre choir and the Col贸n Theatre's Superior Arts Institute, where he studied voice with Luis Gaeta, repertoire with Susana Frangi and chamber music with Guillermo Opitz.
As a soloist, his debut was in 2006 singing Sprecher (Die Zauberfl枚te) in the Avenue Theatre for the Juventus Lyrica Association, then Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Le fauteuil/Un arbre (L'enfant et les sortil猫ges) and the Bonze (Madama Butterfly). He also sang Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Rome's Avellaneda Theatre.
He won second prize in the Neue Stimmen International Singing Competition in 2007 and was invited by the Deutsche Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, supported by the Liz Mohn Foundation for Culture and Music, to sing as soloist in Eugene Onegin with Rolando Villaz贸n, Ren茅 Pape and conducted by Daniel Barenboim.
In 2008 he also performed in Tosca, H枚lderlin and Bach's Kaffeekantate. Fernando also won the Revelaci贸n 2007 prize given by the Argentine Music Critics Association. In 2009 he sings in Der Rosenkavalier, Parsifal, Macbeth, Die Zauberfl枚te and Viva la Mamma, and Mendelssohn's Elijah in the Philharmonie under Seiji Ozawa.
In his spare time, Fernando enjoys playing football and learning the guitar.
