Get ready for Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow Green on the 24th and 25th May

The event is happening at Glasgow Green, Greendykes St, Saltmarket, Glasgow G1 5DB

Doors open at 12.00 noon on both Saturday and Sunday

Entrance & Box Office

Doors for the event will open at 12pm both Saturday & Sunday. There are no facilities available for queuing over-night and camping in the park is illegal so please do not arrive at Glasgow Green until the day of the event as you will be moved on!

There are two entrances to the event, the first is on the West side of the park close to the main park entrance off of Saltmarket. This is the entrance you should use if you are coming from Glasgow City centre. The second is on the East side of the park, you should use this entrance if you are coming from the East of the city.

Age Restrictions

There is no age restriction on Saturday and Sunday at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1’s Big Weekend live from Glasgow Green; however under-16s will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. You may be asked for ID to verify your age.

The bars at the event will be operating a ‘Challenge 25’ policy. If bar staff feel you look under the age of 25 they will ask you to provide photo ID with proof that you are 18 or over.

The following forms of ID will be accepted:

1. A valid passport

2. A valid European Union Photocard Driving Licence

3. A valid photographic identity card bearing the National Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram.

If you would like to use some or all of our facilities, please notify us by Wednesday 21st May to give us time to make the appropriate arrangements. Some facilities will only be available to a limited number of users and telling us your needs in advance will help us in the planning process. Anyone turning up on the day without making prior arrangements may not be able to access our facilities if they are full to capacity.

Travel Information

There is no parking available at the event so we recommend using public transport or walking.

BY FOOT

For the West Entrance the designated route from Trongate would be south on Saltmarket across Greendyke Street to entrance within Glasgow Green.

For the East Entrance the designated route from Trongate would be east on London Road across Greendyke Street right onto Binnie Place at West Brewery to entrance within Glasgow Green.

BY TRAIN

Glasgow Green can be accessed from 5 Rail Stations all within a fifteen minute walking radius. These are:-

  • Glasgow Central Station
  • Glasgow Queen Street Station
  • Glasgow High Street Station
  • Glasgow Argyle Street Station
  • Glasgow Bridgeton Station

BY BUS

First Bus services 18, 43, 64 and 263 all stop within a five minute walking radius to Glasgow Green

BY SUBWAY

Glasgow Green can be accessed from 2 subway stations both within a fifteen minute walking radius. These are:-

  • Buchanan Street station
  • St Enoch Station

BY CAR

If you are driving to the event, or are being dropped off then please note the following information:

There is no parking available at the event however there are a number of public car parks within a 15 minute walking radius:

If you are being dropped off and picked up from the event please use one of the following locations:

West Entrance - Clyde Street off Saltmarket

East Entrance - Arcadia Street off London Road
