Al the ant eater is a real dude, a loveable rogue who's confidence outweighs his ability, as he has a lot to learn before his release.
Al鈥檚 big issue is that he has to learn to forage. He was brought in at just four weeks old and was so small he never learnt the skills from his mother of how to forage for food. The ants that he eats have a nasty bite, and Al never learnt the essentials of dealing with them before she died.
Al also needs to keep his weight up to be in with a chance of developing to adult hood. (his sole carer) needs Al to apply himself a bit more in their daily foraging trips if he鈥檚 ever going to be get back to the wild.
Al has got to learn some crucial life skills to find not only enough termites to eat but also tackle aggressive ants. So Hannah takes him to one of the biggest ant鈥檚 nests in the forest to test whether Al is ready for release.
