Plants for Winter Scent
Winter might not be a time for blousy bold coloured flowers; it’s a much more subtle time in the garden.
Beauty is found in frosted seed heads, song birds, long shadows and golden light. A garden is about more than just what we can see – it should be a feast for the senses. Low light levels and frozen ground may be challenging but winter rewards us with scent.
I visited Maurice Parkinson at Ballyrobert Cottage Garden where he showed me a few of his favourite plants for scent in January.
