Like their geographical and musical peers, Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog and Georgia Ruth, they breathe new life into sounds that have been passed down through the generations for as long as the Mabinogi. However there’s nothing about their music that is stilted by over-reverence. Their original songs and interpretations of Welsh folk standards soar as effortlessly as the buzzards over the hills of their home village of Bethel, near Caernarfon.

And, again, those harmonies! When Elan, Marged and Gwilym Rhys sing together on their rhapsodic new single ‘Arthur’, the result is breathtaking.
