Catalonia leaders jailed for sedition by Spanish court
Nine separatists are jailed over their roles in the 2017 independence referendum.
Spain's Supreme Court has sentenced nine Catalan leaders to prison terms of between nine and thirteen years for sedition over their role in a failed 2017 independence bid, with the longest sentence imposed on former Catalan Vice President Oriol Junqueras. Laura Borros from the Together For Catalonia party talks to us.
Also on the programme, the Kurdish fighters who for five years were allied with the United States in the fight against Islamic State, ISIS, have now come to an arrangement with the government of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, who is allied with Russia and Iran.
