Coronavirus conversations: Domestic violence
We speak to a woman who left an abusive relationship.
It is thought domestic violence cases have increased by 20% during the lockdown, as many people are trapped at home with their abuser. The 大象传媒鈥檚 Gender and Identity Correspondent, Megha Mohan, talks about women in four countries, who have come up with solutions to help vulnerable women in their communities. And we hear from a woman in the US who felt she had to escape from her home.
We also talk about the impact of the pandemic on the global economy. In Lebanon people are back in the streets after already expressing concern for their financial prospects before the outbreak of Covid-19. We鈥檒l hear from some of those who say they are being driven by hunger and anger.
And we connect with a US protester in Seattle's "police-free" zone.
