Fally Ipupa
Congolese superstar Fally Ipupa performs exclusively for TIA.
Fally Ipupa is one of Congo鈥檚 biggest artists but he has been unable to perform in Europe for most of his career.
This is because members of the Congolese diaspora have blocked concerts and tours by musicians from the Democratic Republic of Congo as a way of expressing their opposition to the Congolese government. Some accused artists of being too close to power and not speaking out about crimes being committed.
In 2020 Fally Ipupa did finally perform in Paris, but there were riots in the streets outside the venue with protestors setting fire to scooters and bins.
In this edition of TIA Fally Ipupa explains why this situation is about to change, and what audiences can expect from his first ever concert in London which is scheduled for December.
He also performs exclusively for TIA an acoustic version of one of his earliest hits, Liputa, as well as tracks from his latest album, Formule 7.
