 The Orb in the mix
The Orb are back! It seems like an age since we were treated to the first single from the new album Okie Dokie It's The Orb On Kompakt way back in June. Now the album has arrived and we're treated to some of the most upbeat, minimal, techno influenced trickery The Orb have ever created.
This incarnation of the band sees original member Alex Patterson hook up with Germany's Thomas Fehlmann, they make an album, then sign that album over to the kings of German electronic music, Kompakt Records. It seems, from the title of the album, that they couldn't have been more pleased!
The mix Alex Patterson created for OneMusic with Rob da Bank was performed live in Moscow in November, recorded live and flown over to us by cyber carrier pigeon.
The album Okie Dokie It's The Orb On Kompakt is out now on Kompakt Records and there's a new compilation of rarities and classic Orb tracks being released by Malicious Damage Records in December.
