My name is Yee Yee Aung. I’m from Burma. I’m going to sing a Burmese lullaby. Burmese people love lullabies because there are lots of lullabies in our tradition. This one is a lullaby I used to sing to my son when he was a baby.
When ever he cried we used to sing him this song to soothe him. The words are: ‘We are going to a very big lake, a famous lake in Central Burma. We’re going to pick the little frogs – we’re going to pick up the frogs’.
It was very difficult to get him to sleep but with the help of this song, I tried and finally succeeded
