World on your Street artists are performing in a new monthly concert series in London. 大象传媒 Leicester has taken over the city's marketplace for a World on your Street event called 'Taste'. You can still listen online to highlights from our WOMAD festival showcases. And don't miss our fourth edition of the internet-only radio show, presented by Gilles Peterson, on site now.

大象传媒 Radio 3 has launched a new website celebrating the African music scene across the UK. Find out more.


WORLD ON YOUR STREET RADIO
Listen to our fourth , in which Gilles Peterson presents a showcase of music discovered through the World on Your Street project . The show includes music from Dele Sosimi, Koko Kanyinda, Reem Kelani, The Impact Gospel Choir and many others. Sit back and enjoy an hour of top sounds from around the globe. You can still catch our first three shows presented by Rita Ray, Fiona Talkingon, and Charlie Gillet.

WORLDBEAT AT WOMAD 2003
Rez Jamal from 大象传媒 Radio Wales visited our World on your Street tent at WOMAD 2003. His Worldbeat programme of 24 October included a feature about World on your Street, with music from the festival. TASTE IN LEICESTER
World on your Street took over 大象传媒 Leicester marketplace on Thursday September 25th for 'Taste', a free early evening event showcasing local music, arts and food. Performances included Irish, Iranian, Iraqi and Rwandan artists. For photos and audio visit 大象传媒 Leicester's own , which is packed with stories and music. Ali SlimaniWOMAD 2003
The World on your Street tent at WOMAD 2003 (Reading, 25-27 July) was the place to catch some of the diverse talent discovered by the project over the last year. There was a full weekend of performances and workshops, from the haunting Welsh melodies of Julie Murphy to the fiery Kurdish music of the Zahawy brothers. Listen to audio and see pictures here.

EUROPE IN UNION CONCERTS
FRoots magazine and Radio 3 have launched a new concert series featuring World on your Street artists each month at London's Union Chapel. The line-up for autumn includes Modeste Hugues, Little George Sueref and Abdullah Chhadeh & Nara. They are supporting some of Europe's finest roots innovators such as Kristi Stassinopoulou and Ojos de Brujo - artists who've had little live exposure here in the UK.

Nigerian weddingWEDDING SONGS
Check out the results of our campaign to discover the UK's best wedding songs. Weddings are the place to catch the hottest fuji rhythms, the sweetest Bollywood tunes, and the liveliest klezmer classics. Our partners in this search include 大象传媒 Asian Network, Focus Nigerian magazine, jewish.co.uk and Olay Turkish newspaper. Read more and hear the winning songs.

Don't miss The Street, our new kids' version of World on your Street. Discover the music and culture of five countries: India, Ireland, Brazil, Turkey and Nigeria. It's fun for adults too!



CHOCOLATE MILK
Shaheera Asante's new club brings the latest global grooves to London. The next event on 28 October returns to a 'Paris in London' theme, with music by the Parisian/Rio de Janeirian Favela Chic collective, and the talented Brazilian DJ Delores. Have a look at our from the first two nights.

SOUTH YORKSHIRE GOES GLOBAL
has also created its own World on your Street website. Presenter Ony Bright is featuring local musicians from every part of the globe on her Friday night show. In South Yorks you can hear the Bhangradelic sounds of Keith Angel and Satnam Singh, the Klezmer of Lindsay Aitkenhead, and the dance vibes of the Juju Club. .

LIVE SHOWCASE IN STAFFORDSHIRE
A showcase of local musicians took place on Friday 16 May as World On Your Street hit the New Vic Theatre in Stoke. The event was live on 大象传媒 Radio Stoke and included link-ups with musicians across the world, including an Iraqi musician currently in Cairo and a samba school in Sao Paulo. There were lively drumming and vocal workshops throughout the day. Find out more and listen to highlights.
