17 February 2005

Presented by Mark Lawson

Listen to the programme

KAZUO ISHIGURO
Mark Lawson talks to novelist Kazuo Ishiguro about his new novel Never Let Me Go, which deals with issues of biotechnology and cloning.

He also reveals what it was like being a young Japanese boy growing up in 1960s Guildford, learning English from the television – particularly from American westerns; the effect that winning the Booker Prize had on his career and how he came to work as a grouse beater for the Queen Mother in his teens.

Never Let Me Go is out now, published by Faber and Faber.
