The pleasures of MUTTON with a Royal stamp of approval when HRH the Prince of Wales talks to Sheila Dillon at Clarence House in London about the importance of his Mutton Renaissance Campaign, first launched nearly five years ago, to revive a grand eating tradition and to save our upland farms.
Also in the programme – farmer and butcher Andrew Sharp delivers his Herdwick mutton to Clarence House.
The first ‘Mutton Run’ - crofter Billy Muir and John Strak of North Highland products (Mey Selections) discuss Seaweed Mutton which they had brought on a 700 mile journey from the island of North Ronaldsay to the RAC Club in Pall Mall in London.
Sheila Dillon visits Swaledale on the borders of Cumbria and North Yorkshire and talks to farmer Paul Dixon and to his lamb buyer Neil Udale of Udale Speciality Foods and farming consultant, Dudley Carruthers about the poor price that Paul is currently receiving for his ewes.
Sheila Dillon is joined in the studio by Cumbrian farmer and butcher Andrew Sharp who first brought Herdwick mutton to the south of England as part of the Mutton Renaissance Campaign.
